Multigenerational Square
Neighborhood: Per-Albin-Hansson-Siedlung
A large complex like the Per-Albin-Hansson-Siedlung is an essential focal point and home for residents of all generations. Therefore, it also needs diverse places for meeting and intergenerational exchange.
For this reason, the diverse offer that already exists at PAHO was expanded at a highly frequented location: the City of Vienna – Wiener Wohnen built a low- threshold accessible, barrier-free multigenerational square at the entrance of the central Bergtaidingweg in the area of Ada-Christen-Gasse: with pavement open to seepage, a planted seating bay in different seating heights and a leafy, lovingly designed pergola, a meeting place was created in the immediate vicinity of the curatorship of Viennese retirement homes Haus Laaerberg, inviting young and old to linger and chat.
From 7 June to 30 August 2022, intergenerational activities for the use of the new multigenerational square took place weekly on Tuesdays from 3 to 5 pm with the staff of Kinderfreunde.
