IBA meets Architects

09.11.2022 | 19:00 - 21:00
Architekturzentrum Wien, Museumsplatz 1, 1070 Wien

SLA, COPENHAGEN, DENMARK

"Everywhere our ambition and mission are the same: To design places for life. All life." Architect Mette Skjold presents award-winning projects from the renowned firm SLA, which has been designing public open spaces around the world for 30 years.

In addition to reducing air pollution and heat island effects, green and recreational spaces create new usages for neighborhoods and allow people to live in closer contact with nature. SLA designs public space, landscape and architecture at all scales: citywide master plans, climate adaptation, inner-city open spaces or residential green spaces - such as the 2019 open space design of Denmark's largest social housing estate in Aarhus. In their projects, SLA develop a new image of urban nature that is both aesthetically and biologically diverse, resilient and sustainable.

This year, the successful event series IBA meets Architects in cooperation with Az W - Architekturzentrum Wien is dedicated to the topic of residential green spaces and thus groundbreaking work in landscape architecture.

Lecture:
Mette Skjold, SLA, Copenhagen, Denmark

Respondent: Lilli Licka, Professor at the Department of Landscape Architecture, BOKU Vienna

The event will be held in English.

This event is a cooperation of Az W with IBA_Vienna.
