Accessibility
People over the age of 60 expressed an urgent need for improvements to the topic of accessibility in the entire housing estate, the possibility of accommodating walkers and walking aids, and the age-appropriate design of the apartment blocks. They would also like to see more housing offers and services tailored to senior citizens.
Projects
AALbin
AALbin "Active in old age with digitalisation" is intended to whet senior citizens' appetite for digitalisation. As part of the project, a total of 30 senior citizens will be equipped with a tablet and a smart watch including a mobile emergency call.
IN-Box
The IN-Box is a pilot project implemented by Wiener Wohnen in cooperation with Wien Energie. The IN-Box is a parcel box system that is open to all delivery services and in which parcels can be temporarily stored.
OpenCoach
Opencoach.at enables coaching and consulting for all those who would otherwise often find it difficult or almost impossible to afford these services. As part of the IBA_Vienna 2022, an OpenCoach consulting room will be opened in the PAHO.
Redesign of building passageways
In Per-Albin-Hansson-Siedlung Ost there are several passageways through residential buildings. These are getting new wall designs, new lighting and handrails or are being artistically designed in workshops together with children and young people.
Retrofitting of existing elevator systems
The technical retrofitting or conversion of elevator systems in existing buildings is to be tested as a pilot project on one staircase each in the PAHO as part of the IBA_Vienna.
Upgrading & Redevelopment Bergtaidingweg
As part of the IBA_Vienna 2022, the Bergtaidingweg as a promenade through the Per-Albin-Hansson-Siedlung Ost will be made safer, more attractive and better usable for residents and visitors.
