Route North

Route North takes you from the 21st district of Vienna, Floridsdorf to its 2nd district, Leopoldstadt. Floridsdorf district is Vienna’s second largest and the third most populous in terms of area.

Neu Leopoldau

The development in Neu Leopoldau follows the motto “young housing” and comprises around 1,400 apartments, 70,000 m² for commercial use and plenty of outdoor space.

Quartier "An der Schanze"

The "An der Schanze" property developers' competition tendered started in February 2019. In a two-stage, dialog-oriented procedure, the foundations were laid for a new, lively neighborhood with high living quality and an urban character.

vivihouse

The vivihouse is an innovative construction system for erecting multi-story buildings for mixed use. It is based on a modular timber frame construction, which is specially optimized for the use of ecological materials.

The building cooperative "die HausWirtschaft" sees itself as a space company that realises a building and roof company oriented towards the common good in a participative process. The focus is on the close connection between working and living.

Loft-Flügel

The Loft-Flügel project creates affordable, socially sustainable and inclusive living and working spaces in the densely built-up urban area.

Route East

Route East takes you to the 22nd district of Vienna, Donaustadt. This is the largest and, after Favoriten, most populous district, which has existed in its present form only since 1954.

Quartier "Am Seebogen"

After the pioneer and the Seepark neighborhood, the "Am Seebogen" neighborhood forms the third construction phase of Seestadt aspern and is the first on the north side of the lake.

Podhagskygasse

In Podhagskygasse, temporary and inexpensive housing is being made available on currently not designated but usable areas. This is made possible by an ingenious modular system.

Berresgasse

In the immediate vicinity of the Hirschstetten bathing pond, a new, diverse urban area is being created.

Waldrebengasse

As a result of a developers’ competition of the 2018-2020 housing offensive, subsidized rental apartments in a timber construction will be built on a plot of land in Stadlau.

MGG²²

MGG²² is more than a normal housing project. For the first time, thermal component activation (TCA) is used for heating and cooling in social housing. This ensures a year-round supply of 100% renewable energy!

Route South

Route South takes you to the 10th and 11th districts of Vienna – Favoriten and Simmering. Favoriten is the most populous district of Vienna, with about 10% of all inhabitants of Vienna living here.

Per-Albin-Hansson-Siedlung

How can a large urban settlement from the 1970s be made fit for the future and adapted to today's housing needs? This is the central question that the IBA_Vienna addressed in the Per-Albin-Hansson-Siedlung Ost (PAHO) neighborhood.

G'mischter Block

Based on the "Masterplan Gründerzeit", significant and previously unused parts of a Gründerzeit block in the 10th district are being redeveloped. Special attention is being paid to revitalising the ground floor zone.

Quartiershäuser Sonnwendviertel

To the east of Helmut-Zilk-Park in Vienna-Favoriten, a small-scale, mixed-use and largely car-free neighborhood is being developed. "Quartiershäuser" and projects of building cooperatives provide new impetus!

Innovation Lab GRÜNSTATTGRAU

This project is an independent Innovation Lab that is specifically dedicated to the topic of redevelopment of urban stock with greening buildings.

50 Green Houses

Within the framework of "50 Green Houses", an integrated combination solution for roadside retrofitting of existing buildings with greenery is being developed for the first time.

LiLa4Green

LiLa4Green stands for "Living Lab for Green,” i.e., a living laboratory: innovative social science methods are combined with digital techniques in the development of Nature-Based Solutions with the greatest possible social impact and acceptance.

Route South-West

Route South-West takes you through the three Viennese districts of Meidling, Favoriten and Liesing. Meidling is the 12th district of Vienna, created in 1892 by the merger of several formerly independent municipalities.

Biotope City

Climate adaptation measures in subsidized housing play an increasingly important role, but the principle of affordability must not be neglected. The Biotope City Wienerberg shows that dense development and effective greening are compatible.
