The BiB-Lab - Innovation Lab for Educational Spaces in Motion is being established by the research team Arbeitsraum Bildung, Technische Universität Wien to strengthen the importance of the topic "space" in educational processes. In a three-year cooperation process (09/2021-09/2024), which follows on from activities of the IBA_Vienna, work is being carried out in Vienna's largest municipal housing estate, the Per-Albin-Hansson-Siedlung, on new models of creative spaces for thought, action and design, which have so far been lacking in existing (educational) structures. With the mobile BUS-LAB, the SCHOOL SPACE LABs and a GRÄTZL-LAB, innovative educational space settings are being developed in a participatory manner, implemented as models and tested within the framework of innovation projects in order to develop creative design input for educational and planning practice.
This project is funded by the Innovationsstiftung für Bildung and carried out within the framework of the FFG program "Innovation Labs for Education".
In 1989, the United Nations adopted a fundamental treaty on the rights of the child. What impact does this have on the issue of housing and (more) spaces for children and young people in the city?
In the Per-Albin-Hansson-Siedlung Ost, intergenerational participatory measures were implemented to strengthen the neighborhood, which will be presented in this talk.
"Stadtsalon Bildung" is a networking meeting as part of the BiB-Lab project at PAHO and also part of the program of the Architekturtage 2021/22.
