Grünzug Berresgasse
The excavation remains on site!
As a contribution to sustainability, a near-natural hilly landscape with robust tree and shrub plantings, rough pastures and wooden elements is being created in the north of the Berresgasse project area from the excavated material. The green corridor thus provides a useful buffer to the adjacent single-family housing development throughout the construction phase, and the northern area is currently already being used informally. The next step will be the construction of the paths and the recreational areas in the southern part.
In the sense of the species and habitat protection program of the city of Vienna, important ecological functions are covered here. The location and shape of the earthworks respond to the urban open spaces between the buildings, and path connections are sensibly incorporated and link the entire area.
