Mobility spaces
Starting in 2022, the International Building Exhibition (IBA) will invite municipalities and stakeholders in the metropolitan region to demonstrate in a ten-year process for the future how mobility in the region can be positively influenced using the tools of urban and spatial development. With the help of concrete buildings, concepts and programs, the IBA wants to set an internationally perceptible example of how a growing urban region can rethink living together, working and being on the move and at the same time remain livable and on the move. The IBA will show how forward-looking solutions can be found together for the various challenges faced by communities in the region.

Urban and rural areas enter into a dialogue at eye level in order to shape diverse opportunities for development and participation. The IBA uses the opportunities of growth to develop new spatial focal points and new forms of regional division of labor.
The IBA Munich Metropolitan Region is supported purely by the municipalities. It is a sign of the will to shape and the creative power in the metropolitan region. At the same time, the IBA is being shaped by strong partners from business, civil society, research and development. The IBA is the first in Bavaria and the first IBA on the topic of mobility.
