Park macht Platz

Parkplatz des Wiener Naschmarkts
1060 Wien

How do we want to work in the city in the future? If robots take over our jobs - what will we do with our free time? Do we look for a 'new job'? One that we really like to do? One where we work collaboratively and for the common good? And how does the city change when everyone is no longer 'working' all the time? These questions will be discussed this summer in the parking lot of the Vienna Naschmarkt! For this purpose, Team Vienna is building the project "Park" in August.

Park is a temporary spatial installation made of wood, which will transform the parking lot at the edge of Naschmarkt into a public experiment from August until the end of September:
For four weeks, we want to use Park to test out how we can use the predicted change ("automation", "digitalization") in the working world for new forms of collaboration. What places and infrastructures will be needed in the city in the future for so-called New Work - work that we humans divide up for ourselves, free from economic constraints?

The spatial installation Park is a prototype of such an infrastructure, which can be used, programmed and further built by all interested parties under collaborative conditions of use. From September 1 to 24, 2017, a public and free framework program of workshops, cinema evenings, concerts, discussions, and festivals on weekly changing thematic focuses will take place here.

Park is a demonstrator of StadtFabrik,
