Neighborhood: Biotope City
THE BRICK is a multi-use building complex in Biotope City whose construction cleverly combines sustainability with design and technical innovations: two new buildings in the design of old commercial buildings with greened brick facades and elaborately landscaped surroundings. The mix of uses consists of a hotel, offices, gastronomy and commercial premises, providing an attractive offer not only for future users and guests, but for the entire neighborhood.
read moreThe group of buildings forms the entrance to Biotope City and at the same time accompanies Triester Straße. RLP's choice of material for the elegant façades on the site of the former brickworks was obvious: the design showed the variety of design possibilities with the "first prefabricated product of mankind" (Roland Rainer). The facade greening is diverse and was implemented in different ways and incorporated into the concept.
THE BRICK was awarded 4x DGNB Platin (all three parts of the building as well as the location itself) and 1x ÖGNI Kristall. This makes THE BRICK the first office building in Austria to be awarded for the highest quality of use. In addition, THE BRICK received the architecture award " Gebaut 2020" from the Municipal Department 19. The Biotope City as an overall quarter was also awarded the Greenpass Award in Platinum.
