From September 12 to 16, the last Summer School in the framework of the IBA_Vienna is dedicated to transdisciplinary perspectives of housing production in relation to the economies of construction and housing. Against the backdrop of an increasing financialization of housing and many facets of everyday life, a discussion space will be opened to explore the question in which way social housing is affected by this. What are the economic foundations of social housing? How are they changing in relation to new forms of regulation and financing? Are housing cooperatives and social housing "safe havens" protected from market forces? What is the relationship between social housing and other segments of the housing market?
The goal of the 2022 Summer School, which will be held in cooperation with Marie Jahoda Summer School of Sociology, is to initiate an inter- and transdisciplinary discussion on the economic foundations of social housing.
The detailed program for this event will follow in early fall 2022.
Language: This event will be held in English.
