Workshops on cross-building topics
Gemeinsam wissen wir mehr (Together we know more) is a series of workshops with developers, architects, landscape architects, social sustainability contractors and others that take place several times a year during the planning and implementation of the new Neu Leopoldau neighborhood. In these workshops, cross-building issues are discussed in order to increase the quality of living for future residents.
read moreAt the beginning of the planning process for a new district, all parties involved work together in order to achieve an overall plan. When developers and architects start building, the focus is usually on the individual project. However, it is essential to look beyond the boundaries of the site. The workshop format Gemeinsam wissen wir mehr compensates for this. Participants regularly exchange ideas on topics such as shared spaces across building sites, open space design, mobility, ground-floor uses, experiences with settlement and tenants' everyday living. For example, overarching projects are being further developed, such as an access system to cross-building site common spaces that is available to all. Networking also takes place and detailed developments are coordinated. As a result, buildings, open spaces and other services can be used much better and more effectively in everyday life.
Features
Regular coordination on issues relating to the construction process and project management is common practice in many urban development projects. What is unique about Gemeinsam wissen wir mehr is that a broad spectrum of stakeholders meet and exchange ideas, not just technicians and project developers. The focus is on topics with social and usage-related implications - the perspective of future users is particularly important. And how this can be integrated into construction projects.
Facts and figures
From fall 2018 until the end of 2021, 14 workshops took place. On site in Neu Leopoldau, in the district office of the Gebietsbetreuung Stadterneuerung at Schlingermarkt and online.
Completion
The workshops will continue until all projects in Neu Leopoldau are completed.
