More Play at Home
As part of the IBA_Vienna 2022, Wiener Wohnen and SOS Children's Village Vienna started the Home Game in the PAHO in the summer of 2021: Together with sports educators, parents, and neighbors, space was created for girls and boys aged 4 to 10 to play and do sports.
The trainers showed how to set up a small soccer stadium in just a few minutes – the Home Game arena was quickly created from 6 benches: 2 goals and 4 spectator benches, including the boundaries of the playing field. The rules were defined together. Fun was guaranteed for everyone!
The Home Game was held once a week from June 16 through October 1, 2021, alternating between two different locations in PAHO – from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. each week:
Home Game Arena 1: Corner of Bergtaidingweg/Ada-Christen-Gasse
Home Game Arena 2: Corner of Franz-Koci-Straße/Alma-Rosé-Gasse
The dates are kept up to date on the website of SOS Kinderdorf.
Participation is free of charge – registration is not required!
The general Covid-19 safety measures and the Covid-19 safety concept for the event apply. During the event, the legal guardians are responsible for supervision.
In the Per-Albin-Hansson-Siedlung Ost, intergenerational participatory measures were implemented to strengthen the neighborhood, which will be presented in this talk.
At a communal "multigenerational festival", the focus was on children, senior citizens and intergenerational coming together, playing and chatting.
