To neighborhood walk
The Lebenscampus Wolfganggasse stands for a coherent neighborhood that meets the needs of living, meeting, social exchange, care, support, education and work. The guiding idea is housing in various forms and dimensions as well as the education of young people and the care of people in difficult life situations.
In addition to 323 subsidised apartments, a residential home for apprentices and single parents, training workshops, seminar rooms and classrooms are being built in cooperation with the ÖJAB (Österreichische Jungarbeiterbewegung or Austrian Young Workers' Movement) and neunerhaus. In cooperation with the Fonds Soziales Wien (Vienna Social Fund), residential units are also being built to provide mobile assisted living, as well as two MA11 shared flats for the care of children and young people. For single or separated parents, special housing solutions are offered in apartments, clusters and in the form of temporary apartments or guest apartments. In the Lebenscampus Wolfganggasse, the offers are aimed at all generations, from childhood (childcare) to retirement (senior citizens' shared flats).
Generous outdoor and indoor spaces go far beyond the function of a development. A large number of common rooms serve as meeting and communication places. Residential groups and clusters are significant for flexibly usable living realities. Common rooms are extended by terraces. Starting from the striking building ensemble with green façade directly on the Gürtel, the other buildings fan out into the depths of the site. Each individual building offers a wide range of residential, educational and care services.
The green façade itself not only serves as an eye-catcher but is rather an ecological response to the issue of climate adaptation. The neighbouring, striking former remise of the Badner Bahn / Wiener Lokalbahnen is the formal model for the façade design of the ground floor zone at site 3, bearing the memory of the location. Seminar, workshop and training facilities are located in the residential buildings adjacent to the coach house and around the square.
