The building cooperative stands for largely self-determined building. The approach ranges from environmentally friendly construction to special forms of housing (intergenerational living) to diverse mixes of uses (living + working, living + cultural offerings). In this context, a high degree of individual design of the spaces—including the facades—is very important. This enables new, flexible forms of living and neighborhoods that have a lasting positive effect on the environment and contribute to the identity of the living environment.
The project consists of two building sections, each divided into three "classic" storey zones: a base that provides a view into the depths with a great deal of transparency, the middle zone of the residential storeys and a recessed storey whose jumping volume forms a continuous sharp eaves line in reference to the surrounding roofscapes. The buildings have two different façade patterns: large, individually designed window forms on the promenade side and continuous balconies in the sunny directions that grow with the size of the apartments.
