The Hansson Palme is the "1st Viennese showcase newspaper," which is developed by wohnpartner together with residents and institutions of the district around the Per-Albin-Hansson-Siedlung in Favoriten. As a platform for information and participation, it makes the diversity of the residents and the neighborhood visible.
The special thing about the newspaper is its format: 3 issues of the medium are published annually in 13 "City-Light" showcases along the Bergtaidingweg in Hansson-Siedlung-Ost. The members of an editorial team collect and sift through ideas and contributions, write, photograph and design - since the editorial team is open to everyone, anyone can join in!
The newspaper serves not only to help residents identify with the district and to make different lifeworlds and topics visible, but also to inform about the actions and initiatives of wohnpartner, the residents' center Bassena 10, Wiener Wohnen, but also other institutions in the district. It offers a new and creative form of communication, which should strengthen the neighborhood.
Originally, the showcases originate from the project PER ALBIN - a temporary exhibition project initiated and realized in 2019 by KÖR - Kunst im öffentlichen Raum Wien, in cooperation with wohnpartner and Wiener Wohnen.
read morePER ALBIN comprised a total of five exhibitions. Projects by national and international contemporary artists were shown, which were dedicated to the concept of the public with reference to the settlement, its demographic, infrastructural and social conditions.
With the city district newspaper "Hansson Palme," the settlement and its residents, the history and the stories of the Per-Albin-Hansson-Siedlung now come to the fore.
