Against the backdrop of current housing and climate challenges, the project "Cooperative housing tomorrow" questions the topicality of the original cooperative idea in social housing: "How can the core cooperative idea be thought of in a contemporary way? What makes cooperatives special in coping with current social crises? Do cooperatives contribute to "more than housing"? And how important is the participation of the members in this process?
For this purpose, the perception of experts as well as of cooperators and residents was investigated - using the example of the Altmannsdorf Hetzendorf housing cooperative. The results are the starting point for the panel discussion with representatives from cooperatives, architecture and urban sociology.
The panelists are:
Andrea Breitfuß
Member of the Board of the non-profit housing cooperative Altmannsdorf und Hetzendorf
Introductory words:
Amila Širbegovic, project manager IBA_Vienna - New Social Housing.
Moderation: Ernst Gruber, wohnbund:consult eG
