New lifesaver for the PAHO

A sudden cardiac arrest can affect everyone. Particularly in residential areas with a higher age range, such as in the PAHO and Olof-Palme-Hof, the rapid availability of a defibrillator can ensure survival. Therefore, five defibrillators were installed as part of the IBA at publicly accessible locations in the project area on October 9th, 2020.

In total, 80 percent occur in the living area (i. e. within one's own four walls). Every minute is crucial. In order to increase the probability of survival in the event of cardiac arrest, Wiener Wohnen is pushing the installation of defibrillators in Vienna’s municipal buildings. As part of a pilot project 30 publicly accessible defibrillators were therefore installed for the first time in municipal buildings throughout Vienna. Wiener Wohnen bears the costs for the installation as well as the ongoing operation of the lifesavers, the tenants are not charged with any additional costs. The project is implemented with the support of the PULS association. The goal is to make Vienna the "most heart-safe” city.
