To neighborhood walk
"The benefit of collective action" was at the heart of the work of Nobel Prize winner Elinor Ostrom, after whom the new park in the "Am Seebogen" neighborhood is named. Even before planning began, ideas and suggestions were collected in the course of a citizens' survey in the Urban Lakeside, which were ultimately incorporated into the planning of the park. There are numerous sports and recreational facilities, large green areas, and also recreational areas protected from the weather. And, in keeping with the spirit of Elinor Ostrom, it is also intended to become the starting point for community activities in the new neighborhood.read more
With 30,000 m2, the Elinor Ostrom Park in the north of the Urban Lakeside impresses with an innovative overall concept: In addition to a variety of play and recreational facilities along the subway line (3 ball fields, water and bicycle playground, swing boats, boulder blocks, street workout facility, slackline area, parkour facility and fitness mile), the park impresses as an ecological showcase park, with 247 new trees as well as 128 native shrubs, sustainable rainwater management and a focus on biodiversity. The barrier-free and gender-appropriate planning also makes the park attractive for people with a wide range of needs, and the four-legged friends are offered plenty of space for exercise with a 621 m² dog zone.
