What processes are needed to get the transformation of building on track? How can the quality of architecture not only be protected under the pressure of rising building costs and growing demands, but become a medium of mediation and participation? What programs does the city need in order to involve residents in the radical reconstruction processes that await us? What functions and what mix does a neighborhood need in order to counteract the increasing isolation of its residents? What role does "work" play in this, not only as gainful employment, but also as satisfying employment? But what role must "culture" also play as a special function, as an exceptional situation in everyday life, in order to create social points of contact?
