IBA meets Architects
Kazuyo Sejima
How do we want to live together in our cities in the future? This series of events brings international architects to Vienna whose projects take new directions.
The focus is on internationally outstanding contributions to New Social Housing, whereby housing is regarded as part of the city and connected to all spheres of daily life. IBA_Wien meets architects #3 is dedicated to Japanese architect Kazuyo Sejima. She curated the 12th Architecture Biennale in Venice under the title People Meet in Architecture, which could equally be applied to her own work. She runs the SANAA office in Tokyo with Ry?e Nishizawa. Together, they were awarded the Pritzker Prize in 2010. Since 2016 Sejima has also been a professor at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna.

This time, IBA meets Architects features the architectural duo Flores & Prats. In 1924, the cooperative "Justícia i Pau" built a socio-cultural centre in Barcelona. From the 1980s, the building stood empty until it was given a new lease of life with the conversion by Flores & Prats.
